In this series, the artist is particularly captivated by the fleeting, ethereal traces of light filtering through gaps in dense woodland — light that can be starkly bright or softly subdued. This awareness of “light” and “trace” forms the foundation of his practice. The forms of nature stretch the limits of our imagination, while urging us to make deliberate choices amid nature’s overwhelming grandeur. In his painting process, the artist employs repeated glazing, a technique of thin layering, to build luminous, nuanced layers within the composition. This reordering, moving from the “objective” to the “subjective”, serves as a thoughtful articulation of his painterly practice.
